Step by Step Guide
At pensear.org a search is made using the surname you are researching.
Click on search all records. Now enter the surname you wish to search for, remembering that in many cases the names could be spelled in a variety of ways. To alleviate the problems of missing some possibly useful records because of these variations we recommend that you enter only part of the surname. E.g. if you wish to search for the name McLean it would be advisable that you enter the full name to start with and if this does not produce a result enter only McLe in the box.
You will then be presented with a list of all available records that contain the surname you requested. You will see the record number, the name of the applicant and the county in which they lived. (Each record has the applicant’s name, their parents names or the name of the person/s with which they resided, and in some cases anyone else living in the household. This means that the applicant may not have the surname you are looking for, but the full record will contain someone with that surname.
When you see an entry that is of interest and you want to receive all the information contained in this record, click:

When you have chosen all the records you feel are relevant, click:

You will then be able to pay for the records you have chosen.
Our researchers will receive a copy of your request, prepare the records and send them to you by email. This will usually be done within 48 hours.
Happy searching!
